Myofascial Release Therapy
Myofascial release is a highly specialized stretching technique used to treat patients with a variety of soft tissue problems:
- muscle dysfunction
- tendon dysfunction
- ligament dysfunction
- nerve dysfunction
Adhesions in the myofascial system, causing restrictions in movement, are a common source of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.
Untreated, these adhesions will eventually become scar tissue. Myofascial release therapy consists of breaking up these adhesions by "ironing out" the scar tissue.
Sprains and strains, myofascitis, tendonitis, bursitis, and nerve entrapment are all effectively treated with myofascial release. The result is improved movement patterns with better efficiency and less effort.
